Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), is an umbrella body of Nigerian youths whose sincere interest is channeled to the reawakening the consciousness and commitment of Nigerians to being Patriotic for the enhancement of Peace and Unity of Nigeria.

Speaking with our reporter at an emergency meeting held this morning by ELFON Borno state chapter at the Project Unity Nigeria office in Maiduguri were over 150 members of the Project Unity Nigeria, powered by the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), the group has called for the unity and peace of NIGERIA.

While speaking at the summit in Borno state, the group has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to look inwards, exercise the highest level of fairplay, justice and equity by appointing any of the 3 most senior Army officers next to the late Lt.Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru as the next Chief of Army staff.

Speaking onbehalf of the Borno state chapter of the Forum, Amb. Abdulhamid Adamu Yanga; the Chairman of ELFON – Project Unity Nigeria, Borno state chapter noted that the 3 most senior Army officers are vibrant, gallant, patriotic soldier who are qualified to lead the Nigerian Army.

“As a well structured Forum of public interest for national cohesion and Unity, we want our dear President Muhammadu Buhari to support our course and campaign for Unity by balancing the appointment in the Armed forces. Let the south east geopolitical zone of Nigeria have a fair share in the appointments as it concerns the defence architecture of our Nation.

For us here in Borno state, we think Major General Benjamin Ahanotu; current Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Army who is the supposed next in command to the late chief of Army staff, should be given the opportunity to serve in the capacity of the chief of Army staff. He is eminently qualified for the job and his track records are straight and applaudable so far”, Amb. Yanga stated.
