Enugu Air, operated by XEJET, has added a new Embraer 195 aircraft to its fleet, reinforcing its commitment to safe, reliable, and efficient air travel across Nigeria. The Airline announced the arrival of the newest acquired aircraft on Tuesday, 9News Nigeria reports.
In an official statement, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Iza, highlighted the support of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, noting that his dedication to aviation development continues to boost regional connectivity and economic growth. “This acquisition is a significant milestone in our expansion plans,” Mr. Iza said, promising the rollout of additional services in the coming weeks.
Owned by the Enugu State Government, Enugu Air was launched in July 2025 to enhance local aviation, improve regional air connectivity, and stimulate economic activity. The airline operates from Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State.
At its launch, Enugu Air started commercial operations with three Embraer 170 aircraft, each accommodating 76 passengers. While the airline pursues its own Air Operator Certificate, it partnered with XEJET, which holds the necessary regulatory approvals to operate flights on its behalf. Through this partnership, XEJET manages Enugu Air’s scheduled domestic flights and ticketing services, ensuring seamless travel for passengers.
The addition of the Embraer 195 marks another step in Enugu Air’s mission to provide a dependable and growing network of air services for the region.
