The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Danmallam has said that security operatives working under the State Command has recovered over N20million, and 10 AK47 rifles as well as 33 Pump-Action guns from men of the underworld.
A statement from the state police spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu stated that the commissioner, who made this disclosure in his office at State Police Headquarters, Enugu also assured that the command under his watch would always remain pro-active in dealing with security problems by collaborating with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders in making sure there was safety, security and peace in the state.
Danmallam, while reviewing the performances of the command from January to June 2018, said that a total number of 1,008 cases were reported out of which 1,874 persons were arrested while 1,680 were promptly arraigned in court, adding that 356 persons were convicted, although 714 are awaiting trial.
