Former Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, Kaka Mallam Yale, has died at the age of 73.
Yale reportedly passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, where he was receiving medical treatment.
In a statement announcing his passing, family members described his death as ‘a profound sadness and deep sense of loss’ to Borno State and Nigeria.
Yale was born in January 1953 in Konduga, Borno State
Senator Yale served Borno in various capacities during his public career. He was Chairman of Borno State Civil Service Commission, ‘Commissioner for Health, and also served as Chairman of Konduga Local Government Area among others.
Kaka Mallam Yale represented Borno Central in the Senate from 2007-2011 under the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
His death comes as another major loss to the people of Borno State, particularly the Borno Central Senatorial District, where he served as a federal lawmaker. He is survived by wives, children, brothers, sisters, and relatives.
