Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, continues to dominate global wealth rankings, now surpassing all living Arab billionaires in net worth.
As of April 2025, Dangote’s estimated fortune has surged to an impressive $23.9 billion, placing him 86th on the Forbes list of the world’s richest individuals.
This wealth is primarily driven by his massive investments in Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals, along with holdings in Dangote Cement and other industrial ventures across Africa.

In contrast, the wealthiest Arab billionaire, Egypt’s Nassif Sawiris, holds a net worth of approximately $7.4 billion, less than a third of Dangote’s fortune.
This confirms that no living Arab currently surpasses the Nigerian industrialist in personal wealth.

Dangote’s financial rise has been described as a testament to his vision and relentless business drive, particularly following the operational launch of the multibillion-dollar Dangote Refinery, which is set to reshape Africa’s energy sector.
The revelation has further cemented Dangote’s position not only as a leading figure in African enterprise.
