The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has released a comprehensive report highlighting key achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as it marks its second year in office.
The document, titled “Two Years of Transformation: The Tinubu Footprints,” outlines a series of accomplishments across critical sectors including economy, security, infrastructure, and social development.
According to the report, over 900,000 Nigerians have benefitted from the Presidential Loan and Grant Scheme, while an additional 300,000 students have accessed the newly established Students’ Loan Scheme.
On the economic front, the administration disclosed that over $10 billion in foreign exchange debt has been cleared.
The government also reported securing over $50 billion in new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) commitments, along with over $8 billion in oil and gas investments.
The Ministry further stated that Nigeria’s GDP grew by 3.84% in the fourth quarter of 2024—the highest recorded in three years.
This growth, it said, displays the impact of ongoing reforms under the current administration.
Infrastructure development also featured prominently, with over 440 road projects underway, including more than 2,700km of superhighways.
In the area of national security, the government claimed that over 13,500 terrorists have been eliminated in ongoing military operations.
To cushion the effects of economic reforms, the administration announced a ₦70,000 minimum wage implementation and referenced the passage of four landmark tax bills aimed at enhancing fiscal sustainability.
The statement also pointed to a significant rebound in the country’s foreign exchange reserves, which grew from $3.99 billion in 2023 to $23.11 billion in 2024, a development attributed to improved macroeconomic policies and investor confidence.
In terms of governance, five new Regional Development Commissions have been created to ensure equitable development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
The release concludes by reaffirming the administration’s commitment to delivering on its Renewed Hope Agenda.
