The Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps, in Rivers Command, has discovered two illegal oil refining sites in Umuechem in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Anti-vandal unit, which discovered the two illegal refineries, disclosed two 20,000-liter capacity receiver open tanks, a 25,000-liter cooking oven pot, and two 4-inch galvanized pipes about 400 meters in length at the site.
The team leader said the unit has taken proactive measures to capture the environment and forestall illegal dealings in the petroleum products in the area.
