The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, held a closed-door meeting with militant commander, Tompolo, on Wednesday as Governor Godwin Obaseki and his new party, PDP, intensify efforts to rig the Edo Governorship election scheduled for the 19th of September.

According to top sources who were privy to the meeting and the discussed details, Philip Shaibu was said to have broached plans on how to mobilize thousands of armed militants into Edo State to help the rigging plans of the PDP and cause unrest in the state.

Shaibu reportedly assured the militant commander of his principal’s readiness to pay billions of naira for the deal, using the 15BN payment made to the PDP in exchange for the party’s governorship ticket as a show of their readiness.
