The story of one supposed fôrmer Miss Wôrld Népàl se¢ôπd Rúπners-Up Nîshá Ghimíré that is making the rounds on the internet has been researched by 9News Nigeria investigative reporters and found to be wanting.
The story which was also shared on the 9News Nigeria social media platforms with two photos of a lady in a hospital bed and another posing in a celebrity style had it that one Nîshá Ghimíré was a former Miss World Nepal second-runners-up.
The story continued to say that Nîshá Ghimíré posted the celebrity-style photo on her Instagram account in 2019. It further stated that Nisha was at the top of her career in 2018 as a model and a top actress in Indian movies.
It went further to say that unfortunately, Nisha had an accident in 2019 while in India and her family could not pay for her treatment, that, all the people who wanted to be with her at the peak of her fame disappeared and refused to render help to her.
She was brought back to her home in Nepal to wait for her death which later happened on September 1st 2021.
While investigating the validity of the viral story, 9News Nigeria carried out research to ascertain the source of the story, but there was no valid source of the story except ones that were privately shared on social media 1 day ago. Another source referenced the story to one Zainab Suleiman who did not give a verifiable account of the content.
9News Nigeria researched the validity of a Nepalese beauty pageant and model with the name Nîshá Ghimíré and there was no such personality of Nepalese nor Indian origin. There was also no media coverage nor reportage of such names as Miss World Nepal beauty contestants nor was their name on the runner-up list of such events during the years preceding 2019.
9News Nigeria went further to contact Miss Nepal The Hidden Treasure, the organisers of Miss Nepal world beauty contests and inquired about such names and her position as former Miss World Nepal second runner-up. In response, after checking their archives for over 5 minutes, Miss Nepal The Hidden Treasure secretary, Miss Preeta said that there was no such Nîshá Ghimíré who won second runner-up in Miss World Nepal.
After reading the viral story to the Miss Nepal The Hidden Treasure director, Mr Pramod Ratna Kansakar, he confirmed that in the history of their operation, there has never been anybody with such a name as Nîshá Ghimíré who had participated nor held the title of former Miss World Nepal second runner-up.
In conclusion, though inspirational with life lessons to be learnt, the story of the fôrmer Miss Wôrld Népàl second Runners-Up Nîshá Ghimíré was found to be fictitious.
