Following the killing of some hunters in Edo State which has received a lot of criticism, Nigerians wake up on Saturday morning to another news being shared on social media by some Facebook users that an 18-seater bus carrying passengers was set on fire in Kano State.
One of posts was shared by a Facebook user, Ekoyo Godwin Anuma.

According to him,
“BREAKING:
“An 18-seater bus carrying Igbo passengers was set on fire in Kano. Panic has spread across the Igbo community in the state as Fulani men go on a rampage, attacking and killing any Igbo they come across in retaliation for the killings carried out by Edo hunters.”
“Tragically, 18 Igbos lost their lives this morning while traveling back to the East. A violent Fulani mob ambushed their bus, set it ablaze, and left no survivors.”

9News Nigeria has verified the claim and can authoritativily confirm the report to be fake news.
A further search of the picture attached to the fake report shows that the first time the picture appeared on the social media was when a bus said to be conveying wedding guests caught fire.

VERDICT : The report that 18-seater bus conveying passengers was set on fire is a fake news.
