First City Monument Bank, FCMB, has donated eight hundred and fifty 5kg bags of rice to Anambra state government in support of its palliative distributions to the state’s residents.

Officials of the financial institution made the donation to the state government at the Government House Awka, through the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu.

Speaking, the FCMB Awka 2 Branch Manager, Mr. Victor Agumadu said the gesture was to complement the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in cushioning the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the Covid-19 outbreak.

Receiving the item on behalf of the state government, Professor Chukwulobelu assured that all items received from good spirited individuals and corporate bodies are being properly managed, saying that some households in the state are to benefit from the palliative materials, as Governor Willie Obiano has already approved the distribution of some of the items to fifty indigent households that are properly registered under the state Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
