The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has neutralized a notorious bandit, Salisu Mohammed, also known as “Dogo Saleh”, during a high-stakes counter-kidnapping operation.

The operation, led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, targeted a bandit syndicate responsible for violent crimes along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway and within the FCT.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives intercepted Mohammed on March 3, 2025, at Gidan Abe Forest, as he attempted to move into Bwari Area Council, FCT.

Salisu Mohammed, 21, a Fulani native from Baban Saural village in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, was a hitman for bandit leaders operating in Rijana Forest, Kaduna.

He was notorious for terrorizing communities, orchestrating kidnappings, and collecting hefty ransoms.

Police investigations linked Mohammed to several high-profile kidnappings and killings across Kaduna and the FCT, including:

The FCT Commissioner of Police commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for the successful operation and reiterated the command’s commitment to eliminating criminal elements within Abuja and its neighboring states.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
