The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Monday, 25th March 2024 gave approval for the institutionalization of a 30% representation of young people in government appointments and equitable young women representation inclusive in the 30%.
FEC also gave approval to Restructure and Institutionalize the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, a fund initially established in 2020 to support youth-led and youth-owned enterprises in priority sectors.
The revamped Youth Investment Fund will also receive an immediate infusion of N25 billion from the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Act, complemented by an additional N25 billion from the Youth Development Fund in the 2024 Budget while approval for a N60 billion release from the Central Bank of Nigeria through the Agric Investment and Small and Medium Enterprises Scheme to Nigerian Youths was also approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
