Confirmable sources have revealed to 9News Nigeria that PortHarcourt to Aba railway will commence operation next week- ie first week of April to synchronize the workability of the promise made by Federal Government to revamp all rail lines in Nigeria.
Speaking with 9News Nigeria our source took us to memory Lane of the promises made by the President Tinubu led administration on transportation.
Nigerians are poised to witnessing the realities of some policies allegedly being cooling in the process of legislation and approval by the Senate , our source close to the transportation ministry hinted.
Today Saturday, His Excellency Governor Mbah of Enugu State Nigeria has received the Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmed lkali in his office few minutes before this publication by 9News Nigeria.
The transport minister was in Enugu to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt – Maiduguri Railway project, also known as the Eastern Line.
Minister Ahmed stated that the reopening this all-important rail line will enhance inland transportation significantly, unlock economic opportunities in the region and boost export.
He however extends kudos to the Federal Government for realising the necessity of reactivating the line after decades of abandonment.
At the completion cum full commencement of operation on these railways, Nigeria will certainly witness a remarkable feat in the transport industry.
