The Federal Government in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, is to implement the proof of address system initiative to curb insecurity across the 774 local government areas in the country.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, made the disclosure at the stakeholders meeting for the Activation and the implemented of the Local Government Proof of Address System in Abuja.
He notes that Nigeria, like many nations, has been grappling with a myriad of challenges such as insecurity, social vices, economic instability and inefficient governance in Public and Private Sectors, urging Ministries, Departments and Agencies to adopt the use of proof of address certificates from the local government areas as a requirement to establish reliable and verifiable addresses.
