In a groundbreaking move for the world of football, the International Football Association, FIFA has announced that the 2026 World Cup will feature a halftime show, marking the first time such an entertainment spectacle will be included in the tournament.
Inspired by the iconic Super Bowl halftime performances, this addition is set to bring a new level of entertainment to the global event.
The decision comes as FIFA aims to further expand the appeal of the World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“Football is more than just a game; it’s a global celebration of culture, and we believe this halftime show will bring fans together in new and exciting ways,” a FIFA spokesperson said in the announcement.
The 2026 World Cup, already expected to be historic with an expanded format featuring 48 teams, will now offer a dazzling blend of sport and spectacle.
