Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed by fire at number
sixteen Udegboka Street by Our Line, Nkpor in Idemili North Local
Government Area.

According to an occupant of the building, Mr Ugochukwu Nwadiogbu, the
fire started from an upholstery workshop beside the twin building and
extended to their own building where it burnt down four vehicles
parked in the compound.

According to Mr Nwadiogbu, more damages would have been recorded if
not for the timely intervention of the State Fire Service and thanked
the neighborhood for their assistance.

Narrating the incident, the owner of the upholstery workshop, Mr
Godwin Ezechi said he was called by a resident of the area that his
workshop was on fire, when he came, he managed to remove a few
furniture before the fire burnt down his shop and all his industrial
machines and other machines.

He lamented that he lost more than ten million naira worth of property
and solicited public assistance to start life afresh.

The owner of a mechanic workshop, Mr Ndubuisi Obasi, whose container
shop was burnt down, and could not hold his tears, said the container
is where he normally park all the batteries, keys and machines of the
vehicles he is repairing for almost twenty years he has occupied the
workshop adding that he lost goods worth millions of naira to the
inferno and also pleaded for support from government and people.

ABS observed that four vehicles were burnt down inside the Our Line
twin building which partly affected the building while the mechanic
and upholstery workshops were burnt down.
