The Elderly woman who sells her fruit by Nkemba on Abak road was said to have fallen into the uncovered drainage on Abak road, unfortunately she’s yet to be rescued, Iboko youths fruitlessly tried yesterday to bring out her body to no avail.

The youths now resorted to blocking Abak road from Iboko street to where APICO building is situated on Abak road to attract government attention.

The State Police Command have martial out men of the force to ensure peace and order in the area without any form of molestation, for now, officers of the force have kept to the rules of engagement.

The Commissioner for Environment, Mr Charles Udoh a son of the clan arrived at the scene and he is making frantic efforts to ensure that the body of the woman is removed.

According to Mr Udoh, he has ordered for equipments to be brought first to suck the water out and if her body is not found then there’ll be no option but to cut the road and he is not ready to leave until that is done.

The youths of offot clan are waiting patiently to see that the woman’s body is removed from the drainage. And they are calling on government to clear the drains and cover them to prevent future mishap.
