Food Inflation Was Caused By Government Palliatives, Says CBN Governor

The Central Bank Governor of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso stated that the high cost of foodstuff in the Country was caused by Federal Government Palliatives.

He reveals this During a meeting at the March Monetary Policy Committee.

He said this MPC increased the benchmark interest rate to 24.7 percent from its former rate of 22.75 percent.

The country’s inflation rate speeds up to 33.2 percent in just March, with the food inflation rate going high to 40.01 percent.
