The former Chief Press Secretary CPS to the former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, Sam Onwuemedo has condemned the activities of Tasks forces seen everywhere in the state of their wicked and heartless extortion of money from Imolites and drivers in the name of generating revenue to meet up the state government 100billion Naira IGR even when the government had announced the stoppage of such revenue drives at the moment.
Onwuemedo had maintained that governor Ihedioha’s government is behaving like army of occupation having too many programmes at a time and being too much in a hurry for everything”
In his words “I personally intervened to rescue three buses held hostage by five members of the taskforce who came down from a mini bus with Imo colour holding the said busses and their passengers insisting that they must pay for driving vehicles without having government approved colour.’He further added that he threatened to call police for them if they don’t leave the vehicle”
Information revealed to 9News was that such taskforce agents are parading themselves everywhere in the state estorting money from people illegally.Though there are avalanche of panels, commissioners,task forces,visitation panel,threats of revocation of C of O, marching and marking grounds panels,etc,one could begin to wonder where the government is heading to having all these in less than seven months,Onwuemedo asked?
