The Founder of Mammy Market in military barracks across the country Maria Ochefu, is dead.
Her son Professor Yakubu Ochefu said on Thursday that; “Mama passed away in Makurdi in her sleep, she had been a patient at the Benue University Teaching Hospital, she would have been 87 by this April”.
She was married to Colonel Anthony Ochefu who was once a military governor of Enugu State.
Mama Maria Ochefu was the originator of military barrack Mammy Market, which later became a household name across the country.
