The National Union of Campus Journalist Federal Polytechnic Ede Chapter usually address as FPE Students’ Press had took to the air to express her dissatisfaction at the decision of the management to postpone Academic Activities.

The body, in her PRESS statement early this morning had condemned the action of the Rector to postponed Academic Activities on the basis that seems to be weightless.

The Press statement read partly;

In a memorandum released last night, the management body of Ede Poly has directed postponement of academic activities.

Recall that SU, stakeholders and students trooped out en masse today to show their displeasure at the delay in the commencement of academic activities.

Ede Poly Management has tagged this responsive action as #EndSARS protest and declared that all academic activities be suspended.

Referencing the need for the polytechnic to put in place good COVID-19 protocols, the management pronounced that all students should evacuate school premises.

“All students are to vacate the polytechnic campus while those that are residents in the hostel are to vacate their hall of residence on or before 12 noon on Wednesday, 4th November, 2020”, the statement read.

The Press however condemn this irrational decision by the management body, reproach this illogical banters thrown at the students.

Having clearly claimed that all measures are in place in respect to keeping Covid-19 protocols prior to the reopening of school, it is clear that the management are rather dubious in their dealings with the students populace.

Framing the peaceful display of students agitation today as #EndSARS activities when it has been subdued in the state and across the nation as a reason shows that the management has taken to falsehood in their attempt to wrap their apparent misdemeanor.

Students residing in school hostel had earlier trooped out to make their discontent known while the Students Union as well encouraged all students not to be intimidated by the Memo released by the management.

Meanwhile, the Press understand the great deal of pain this might have caused, but enjoin all students to stay calm and not resolve to violence in the morning.
