Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed and forwarded the names of nine individuals to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as Commissioners and members of the Rivers State Executive Council.

Naija News reports that following the appointments, the House of Assembly has invited the nine nominees to submit required documents ahead of their screening and confirmation.

The directive was contained in a special government announcement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Emeka Amadi.

According to the notice, the nominees are to submit forty (40) copies of their Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of their credentials and evidence of compliance with tax obligations.

“All documents are to be forwarded to the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly Quarters of the Rivers State House of Assembly,” the statement read.

The nominees invited for the screening exercise are:

Professor Datonye Alasia;

Mr. Tonye Bellgam;

Professor Temple Nwofor;

Dr. Peters Nwagor;

Mrs. Charity Deemua;

Tamuno Williams, Esq.;

Mr. Lekue Kenneth;

Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq.; and

Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.

Following submission of the required documents, the nominees are expected to appear before the House for screening, after which lawmakers will deliberate and decide on their confirmation as members of the Rivers State Executive Council.
