Students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, who graduated in 2017, 2018 upwards have cried out to the Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board JAMB Owerri Office over failure to upload their Regularization Data necessary for NYSC.

It will be recalled that the Admissions body had introduced REGULARIZATION PROCESS in the recent past to get Admission Letters, which is needed for NYSC mobilization.

9News Nigeria reports that in the JAMB office Owerri, it is only one staff that is assigned the duties of uploading students data to the JAMB website for onward processing/printing of such letters.

Speaking with our correspondent, CAMPUS LIFE reporter who has been monitoring this insensitivity/poor service delivery recently said that no day passes by without thousands of students besieging JAMB office Owerri to get these letters to no avail.

One Miss Uju a graduate of Dental Technology FUTO said, “Since 2018 we graduated, none of my course mates has been mobilized for NYSC because of Regularization.

“The delay first started with our immediate Vice-Chancellor Prof.Francis Eze who could not send our data to JAMB earlier until now we got a female VC. Our source told us.

Another student Nnenna OTI who spoke to us said that the students had besieged her office in early July 2021, compiled and sent our names to the Owerri JAMB office that’s mandated to do the uploading to the national office where the final letter needed will be processed.

But my thrice visit here shows that nothing has been done so far owing to the fact that only one staff is assigned uploading the data of students from my school, IMSU, ALVAN, POLYNEK, IMO POLY etc.

They however frowned at these Developments and described such as a high wickedness and unfortunate of JAMB.

“So many of us since after graduation have reached the age 30 and cannot serve again, some have lost jobs which requires NYSC and some have travelled oversees forgetting totally about mandatory one year NYSC, we FUTO graduates are mostly affected”.

Another FUTO graduate from Building Technology who spoke on conditions on anonymity said, “I come here every six months since 2019 to see updates as regards my Regularization Letter, but all to no avail”

“I plead with our new female VC to help us in her motherly care talk to this JAMB people to process this letter for us, am almost tired.

When our CORRESPONDENTs contacted JAMB Owerri through one of their staff who told us that the fault is from the director here who only assigned one staff to be doing the uploading work”
