UNESCO Laureate, Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu has said that on the 14th of January, 2021 the General Secretary, Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Universities, Prof Yakubu Ochefu Aboki will among others host H. E UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu and other Scholars at International Summit and Induction ceremony that will be held at National Secretariat of Committees of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Universities in Abuja, Nigeria .

The media learnt this today in a media chat with UNESCO Laureate, who stated that Prof Moshood Fashola will delivered a leading paper titled: “Perpetual under-development in Nigeria in the light of Structural theory of Development Policy” as one of Keynote Speakers.

He noted further that other scholars are Prof Olubukola Oyawoye, Prof Nebath Tanlang, Prof M S Liman and Dr Sir Sheriff Ajiterun and others. He said : “The Vision and Mission of COMMITTE OF VICE CHANCELLORS OF NIGERIA is to be a veritable platform for Nigerian Universities for the attainment of academic excellence through cooperation and exchange of ideas. MISSION:To provide a focus of academic leadership through which bold initiatives can be taken on matters concerning University Education”.

“To provide a platform for discussing common issues such as inter-university cooperation, administrative and academic practices, maintenance of academic standards, staff recruitment and exchange, sporting competitions, students’ affairs and others. To act as a channel through which the joint opinion of Nigerian Universities can be expressed on matters affecting higher education in Nigeria. And to improve visibility of Nigerian Universities”.
To act as a bureau of information on Nigerian Universities”.

“To facilitate communication and mutual consultation among the universities.
To serve as a forum for collaboration with Governments and Non-Governmental Organizations, Ministries, Parastatals, Agencies and other national and international organizations on matters concerning University education. To cater for the welfare of Vice-Chancellors
To do all such other lawful things as are necessary for the furtherance of University education in Nigeria. Vision and Mission of International Chartered World Learned Society:The Oxford Dictionary defines Learned as a person having acquired much knowledge through study”.
