Orji uzo kalu, The former Abia state governor and chief whip of the senate who was sentenced for 12 years imprisonment in December 2019 on the basis of 7.2billion fraud by the federal high court and released from Kuje Correctional Center, Abuja by Justice Mohammed Liman on 3rd June 2020 following a supreme court judgement nullifying his trial and conviction has made a statement saying that going to prison made him a better person.
According to him, the prison experience was an eye-opener and something that revealed many secrets to him. he said this during a Thanksgiving session at the love world incorporated otherwise known as Christ embassy.
“I am happy I went to prison. I went to prison and I am out. I am happy because going to prison has made me refined, better and more forward looking man. I went to prison and discovered many secrets that I never believed could happen”. He said..
