The new Captain of Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Section, Dr. Innocent Okoro has been getting pat on the back from top golfers and other club captains of notable golf clubs following his victory and emergence after long struggle.
The Captain of the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club, Ola Ibironke in a congratulatory message issued, urged the renowned estate manager to strive to make huge difference by turning things around and stamp his feet in the history of the Ikoyi golf section.
The IGC boss, however, advised Okoro to run an all inclusive administration by tapping into the knowledge of the elders and past captains of the club, while commending the courage and resilience he displayed towards attaining the new office.
Speaking in the same vein, the former Lady Captain of both Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) and Tiger Golf Club (TGC) Sumbo Oshile felicitated with the new Ikoyi Golf section Captain after being sworn-in on Wednesday 23rd February at the AGM of the section.
She however, vouched for the new Captain’s efficiency and good delivery for considering his experience gathered having served in various capacities on different committees within the club.
“Okoro has a great love for the game of golf which he often displayed by supporting any golf event that was brought to his attention, am sure he’s going to bring all the experiences he had gathered to bear in his administration”, Oshile noted.
