Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised an alarm over an alleged plot by former governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, to incite violence in the state.
Speaking at a world press conference today, Governor Adeleke claimed that Oyetola had made arrangements to unleash mayhem in Osun starting Monday, using his influence over security operatives.
“I regret to inform Mr. President and the public that Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has concluded an arrangement to cause mayhem in Osun State. He is issuing illegal directives to security operatives to enforce illegality simply because he is the nephew of Mr. President,” Adeleke stated.
The governor warned that Osun security operatives were allegedly being pressured into obeying unlawful orders, vowing to protect the people of the state from any attempt to disrupt peace and stability.
“I chose to alert the nation before my people are killed or maimed by a minister dropping the name of Mr. President in connivance with the Osun State security operatives obeying unlawful orders,” he added.
Governor Adeleke called on the federal government and security agencies to ensure neutrality and uphold the rule of law, stressing that Osun State must not be plunged into crisis.
