
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke on Sunday sworn in Local Government Chairmen and Councillors across the State.
Adeleke urged them to focus on good governance while warning against any attempt to forcibly occupy council secretariats.
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, were in in the State in solidarity with Adeleke.
Adeleke expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for resisting attempt by some forces to destabilize Osun State.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony in Osogbo, Osun State capital, the governor described the occasion as a major milestone in the state’s democratic process, emphasizing that election was conducted inline with due process.
“We are here to conduct a democratic process for which we all laboured so hard to achieve”, Governor Adeleke said.
Addressing the newly sworn in-officials, Governor Adeleke charged them to be “agents of change, community developers, and deliverers of the dividends of democracy”.
The Governor appreciate the people of Osun State for their steadfast support, assuring them his administration would remain committed to their welfare.
