The need to overhaul and reposition the Imo Broadcasting Corporation is long overdue.
A look at the myriad of problems that has bedeviled IBC shows that it is not something we need to travel to the moon to solve instead it is obvious that the solutions lies with us but the problem is that government has decided to politicize these issues all for personal aggrandizement thereby allowing only state broadcasting media viz-a-viz Orient TV and Orient FM become moribund.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma in his pragmatic style of leadership has again decided against all odds to take the bull by the horn in addressing the issues facing IBC and to put an end to it and that is why he has inaugurated the new management board committee to ensure that henceforth the pride of IBC will be restored and its problems settled.
The truth remains that with the right kind of leadership, IBC is set to be the voice of the Eastern Heartland and the best in the region. This leadership entails involving best hands and those that will without fear or favour bring to the notice of the Governor issues and their best solutions.
By this recent approach by the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma, it is expected that the IBC will become a topnotch broadcasting service and has been set up in the pinnacle of efficient service delivery as well as uphold the trust reposed in them.
Inaugurated as the board chairman is Hon. Emma Dike while Sir. James Egbuchulam, Director General IBC as the Secretary.
Other members includes; Engr. Onwuelingo Okechukwu, Ms. Ify Onyegbule, Sir. John Uchechukwu Nnabuihe and Sir. Kennedy Amanze will be representing the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
From all of us, we wish them well in their respective new offices and capacities.
