Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Friday, visited the International Market in the state to see the level of work being done in the market.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Special Assistant on New Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze described the emerging International Market in Ebonyi as first of its kind in Southern Nigeria.
Nwaze stated that when the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE promised to develop Ebonyi State, it was never in the picture that he actually planned to transform the state to a matchless standard which will be to the admiration of both Ebonyians and Nigerians.
He further revealed that the transformation that occurred in the newly reconstructed St. Margaret Umahi International Market is a true testimony that Ebonyi has become a rejected stone that became the chief corner stone. The pictures attached herewith are evidence to show that Umahi’s leadership is ordained by God as he kept on launching unimaginable and uncommon projects.
According to him, by January, 2020, the St. Margaret Umahi International Market in Ebonyi will become activated with business transactions. The market has a unique feature, a Part-time program annex of the Ebonyi State University. It is expected that the traders will use their spared time to get higher education as they do their businesses. This is a type of package that is never seen anywhere else in Nigeria. It is secured with police post and other needed features that will make the market stand out from the crowd.
Mr. Francis Nwaze further revealed that the Governor was grateful to God at what he has used him to do in the market as he inspected it on Friday after swearing in 50 newly appointed coordinator of Development Centers and innaugurating 63 appointees as EAs, STAs and TAs.
