Over there in Ghana, the Imo State Governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma was highly rated and honoured by Ndi Igbo amid crowds of guests across the continents of Africa who trooped out en-masse to witness their Year 2024 New Yam Festival. “Onye Ndu Ndi Igbo” was awarded to Gov Uzodinma at the event.
The year 2024 Yam Festival was held in the capital ACCRA Ghana where notable Africans including Nigerians showed attendance as 9News Nigeria reports.
Recall the Imo State Governor alongside his South Eastern counterparts have seriously worked together to stabilize the bilateral relationship of Igbos and Ghanaians.
Since Governor Hope Uzodinma assumed office as the Chairman of South East Governors and doubled as Chairman progressive Governors forum, he has used his good office to make Igbos in Ghana proud and united than ever as 9News Nigeria report.
Uzodinma’s goodwill and input on this unilateral gesture has brought back to Imo state a deserving Honour and an Excellency award to Hope Uzodinma CON.
At the Irji Ndi Igbo Na Ghana held weekend, Governor Hope Uzodinma was honoured with the Award of “ONYE NDU NDI IGBO” by the Ezigbo na Ghana.
The Award was received by The Deputy Speaker Imo State House Of Assembly, IMHA Rt. Hon. Chyna Amara Iwuanyanwu, The Majority Leader Rt. Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi and The Chief Whip Rt. Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri on behalf of the Governor of Imo State His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodinma.
Our correspondent who covered the event in Ghana reports that the 2024 Yam Festival held in Accra was an epoch making event targetted at showcasing the Igbo heritage, culture and artifacts in far away land.
The Igbos in Ghana were sparked with healthy moment of happiness expressed in the red carpet reception from the arrival of Imo state dignitaries to their departure from the airport as 9News reports.
Imo House of Assembly IMHA legislators in the person of Rt Honourables Amara Iwuanyanwu, Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi and Chigozie Nwaneri represented both the Governor, His Excellency Hope Odidika Uzodinma and Imolites in general at the event in Ghana.
The event featured colony of Traditional Rulers of both countries resident in Ghana, Community leaders, Politicians, Top Government functionaries, clergy, dance troupes from various Igbo regions. Distinguished Sons and Daughters of Imolites in Ghana too numerous were also spotted at the just concluded yam festival.
