Gov Zulum Extends Gratitude To Armed Forces, Donate Cash, Vehicle, Other Items

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has extended gratitude to the Nigerian military for their efforts, sacrifices and commitment to ending insecurity in the state.

The governor honored the armed men at Ramat Square, Maiduguri, during the 2025 Armed Force Remembrance Day.

Represented by his deputy, Umar Kadafur, the governor described the occasion as “more than just a ceremony, it is a solemn reminder of the importance of peace, security and stability in our country, it also reminds us of the sacrifices, bravery and patriotism of our ex-service men.”

He noted that the occasion is also to extend gratitude to the armed forces in the fight against insurgency in the state.

“Your bravery, resilience and sacrifice has saved countless lives, restored hope to devastated communities, despite the numerous challenges you have faced,” he said.

Also, the governor donated N20 million naira, a Hilux vehicle to the legion and 200 bags of 25kg rice, 100 cartoons Spaghetti to their widows.

This is coming weeks after a grand donation of N300 million by the state government, to support the families of soldiers who lost their lives in the ongoing battle against Boko Haram insurgents.

The governor also reaffirmed the government committement in supporting the armed men, adding that “their selfless service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, we will always stand by them and work tirelessly to ensure that they receive the care and recognition they deserve.”
