In an unprecedented move, Cross River state civil servants received their May salaries on the first day of the month.
Making this announcement at the U.J. Eusene Stadium, venue of the May Day rally, the state Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade promised the workers that his administration would always ensure prompt payment of salaries.
The state workers had been getting their income in the third week of the month following an agreement the Governor reportedly have with some banks whereby he does not await for allocation from the federation account before paying workers.
After receiving alerts on their phones, the joy of the workers knew no bounds as they gave Ayade the title of ˜Best Labour Friendly Governor in Nigeria.

Special greetings to this great Governor but i think my eye brows are raised with these questions? If you dont await the allocation from the federation account before paying workers, then who owns the money initially paid? From the banks, whose collateral? lolz! There is just so money in this country, please Governors pay workers their dues and stop using it as a campaign strategy.
I hope these civil servant will work with there might and honesty these month.. Kudos to the Governor he has done well pls help me call Ogbeni Argbesola to come and learn here ooo
Thats a good one the the Governor, His excellency, at least if your laborer are happy your bans will be full. I hope all other governors will emulate you by paying there workers early enough…
