Following the resignation of Ibrahim Kashim, former Secretary to the State Government, (SSG), Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed has appointment of Alh. Aminu Hammayo as his replacement.Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Gidado said the new SSG is a seasoned administrator and public servant, and has served the state with distinction in various capacities, recalling his role in the same capacity in the past.
“He was a one time SSG, and until his new appointment, he was the Commissioner for Budget and Multi Lateral Coordination,” Mr Gidado said.
The special adviser said that the governor also approved the appointment of Hashimu Kumbala as his Principal Private Secretary.
He noted that Kumbala would be providing critical administrative and advisory support to the governor as well as ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government.
“He was a retired permanent secretary and until his new appointment he was the Special Adviser to the governor on General Services,” he said.
He added that the appointments reflected Mohammed’s commitment to effective governance and vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration.
The two appointees were sworn-in by Governor Bala Muhammad at a ceremony in Bauchi.
The governor said that the appointees are accomplished technocrats and resourceful professionals, suited for the responsibilities entrusted to them.
“Hon. Aminu Hammayo has been instrumental in the success of our PDP-led administration and played a pivotal role in developing the #MyNewBauchiProject blueprint, a strategic roadmap for the progress of our state,” he said.
