Governor Uzodinma receives the report/findings of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Police Brutality and Related Matters

His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma yesterday has confirmed the recommendation report of the judicial commission saying it is worthy of implementation.

The Imo State governor received the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Police Brutality and related matters yesterday.

Recall that governor Uzodinma promised the ENDSARS protesters that his Government will look into the complaints of the alleged extra killings and police Brutality and thus has led to the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Police Brutality and related matters.

Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodimma, on a journey in search of the truth and assuage the feelings of aggrieved Imo people following the protests of the youths, set up the Commission on the 3rd of November, 2020 headed by Hon. Justice Florence I. Duroha-Igwe.

The Governor during his address commended that Committee members for a job well done even with divers challenges they had to face.

He further stated that the recommendation by the commission is worthy of implementation and that the Shared Prosperity Government will look into it and implement accordingly.

Speaking earlier, Hon. Justice Florence I. Duroha-Igwe, the chairman of the Commission, presenting the report disclosed that the report is in 3 Volumes:
Volume 1 is the main Report embodying the findings and recommendations, Volume 2 contains petitions and Volume 3 contains records of proceedings.

She urged that the report be implemented promptly to restore the confidence of the public in the ability of the Government to right the wrongs, correct the errors of the past and allow the dead to rest in peace.

Present at the event were the service Chiefs in Imo State and Imo State Government officials.
