Few moments ago, the leadership of the leading All Progressives Congress APC party Owerri Zone paid a working visit to Owerri West Local Government Area.
The visit took place at the Council headquarters Umuguma, where notable leaders and party members were in attendance.
While speaking at the visit, the Imo state APC Chairman, Hon Macdonald Ebere PhD charged the party to braise up action to go grassroots and mobilize more membership.
He however urged Owerri West APC member to as a matter of urgency do the needed work expected of them to work for the victory of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma reelection bid.
Our correspodent who covered the event reports that, the tour was targetted at informing party members on the importance of verification of membership to determine the voting strength across the ten wards of Owerri West.
He reiterated that elections are won at the polling booths and not at the collation centers and as such urged APC members and leaders of the party to re-verify their voting strength for onward transmission to the state APC central Data.
The aim of the exercise is for onward compilation of membership lists through the special committees set up per ward to checkmate the actual voting strength of APC membership before the election proper.
While adding that the exercise is paramount and very important, the Deputy Governor of Imo state, His Excellency Placid Njoku pleaded with Owerri West to carry out this assignment without delay to heat the target point of identifying the actual voting strength across all the wards in Owerri West and Imo state at large.
Majority Leader Imo House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi, Land’s Commissioner, Sir Noble Atulegwu, Hon SOLAD Victor Osuigwe, Executive Director Rubber Estate, Bar Gas Amadi, Hon Madoka Anthony Ordu SA on Rubber Estate and Recovery, Lady Dr Oby Oguzie, High Chief Oyiga, Other government appiontees, Zonal leaders, Deputy Chairman of Imo elders council, Chief Lemmy Akakem, Chief Marcon NlemIgbo, President Generals, ward EXCOs, Structural heads, Women and Youth groups, including other dignitaries too numerous to mention were in attendance.
The high point of event was the welcoming of new decampees from both the People’s Democratic Party PDP and All Progressives Grand alliance APGA, Labour Party to the leading All Progressives Congress APC Owerri West.
Hon Macdonald Ebere applauded the Owerri west APC for the huge mobilization of party membership who graced the event while observing a one minute silence for the departed APC soul in the person of Late Sabinus Ogbonna.
There is no doubt therefore to state that Owerri West APC Mobilisation was massive and commendable as confirmed by the party Leadership led by Hon Macdonald Ebere.
