Few moments ago, Governor Hope Uzodinma was endorsed by Orlu political bloc in Imo state Nigeria to continue his re-election bid. Recall that Orlu bloc has twelve local government areas while Owerri has nine and Okigwe has six which made up the twenty seven LGAs as investigated by our correspondent.
The Orlu political bloc also passed a resounding vote of confidence on the governor’s signature achievements in the state as 9News Nigeria reports.
News Nigeria (Owerri) reports that in yet another endorsement bagged for the numerous achievements of the Shared prosperity administration, His Excellency, Hope Uzodinma has been endorsed for the second term bid by the Orlu Zone.
During the just concluded Orlu Zone summit which was well represented by illustrious sons and daughters from the zone and across party borders, applauded Governor Uzodinma for the numerous achievements in the state and across the South-East region.
In his reaction, Governor Uzodinma commended his people for their wonderful show of love, acceptability, and support.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to justify the trust reposed on him while promised to do more great work to pacify the entire state.
He disclosed that his campaign is based on Imo people seeing what he has done which will further prove what he will yet do for the betterment of Ndi Imo.
According to the Governor, “Don’t give up, hope is coming. We will continue to bring Prosperity and empower our people”.
He also reassured his commitment to upholding and implementing the charter of equity for the interest of all in the state to ensure power goes around the zones.
Amongst other highlights of the event, the traditional rulers representing all the autonomous communities in Orlu Zone came out openly declaring their support and blessings to the Governor.
In conclusion, the support and recognition of the Governor’s achievements are certainly positive indicators for the continuation of his administration.
In a related development, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, the State Party Chairman of Imo APC, who was also present at the event as a special guest expressed his admiration for Governor Uzodinma’s leadership and acknowledged the immense progress that has been achieved under his administration.
He praised the collaborative efforts that were discussed during the summit and emphasized the importance of unity in driving sustainable development. He used the opportunity offered by the event to call on all political leaders in orlu zone to work above and beyond expectation as the journey to return Governor Hope Uzodinma back to Douglas House has started.
The majority Leader Imo House of Assembly Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi also stated the fact that the best candidate to vote in this upcoming November Governorship election in Imo state is Governor Hope Uzodinma while thanking the Orlu bloc on their magnanimity and love for Governor Uzodinma.
The Governor also announced a significant collaboration between the State Government and the Federal Government to alleviate the impact of the post-subsidy removal and also called upon citizens of the state to remain steadfast and not be swayed by sensationalist rhetoric propagated by those who do not have the state’s best interests at heart.
The Orlu Zone Development Summit 2023 proved to be a platform for unity, progress, and shared aspirations as Governor Hope Uzodinma, alongside key stakeholders like Hon. MacDonald Ebere, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi and other leaders across the zones and wards, reaffirmed their commitments to the betterment of Imo state and its citizens.
It was an epoch making gathering of creme de la creme of leaders and political mobilizers and decision makers in the twelve political LGAs in Orlu zone trooped out en masse to endorse Governor Hope Uzodinma for the second tenure.
