Antonie Griezmann has reached a historic milestone, netting his 200th goals for Atletico Madrid in a match against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League played on Tuesday.
Griezmann, the club all-time leading scorer, hit the milestone goal with a shot from close range after an assist by Julian Alvarez in first-half stoppage time.
After scoring Griezmann held a jersey with the No. 200 and nickname “Grizi” on the back.
Griezmann continues to etch his name of Atletico’s all-time greats.
The France forward netted against Real Madrid in semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup in January 2024 to surpass Luis Aragones 173 goals.
Since joining Rojiblancos, Griezmann has remained a talisman, delivering goals, creativity, and leadership on the pitch.
His consistency has cemented his legendary status among Atletico fans.
Griezmann is in his 10th season with the club. His first stint with the club was in 2014 -2019 before joining Barcelona for what were two mostly disappoInting seasons.
He returned to Atletico in 2021 on a one-year loan that was eventually extended. And Rently had his contract extended with Atletico until 2027.
