Gunmen Kill Two Policemen In A Foiled Kidnapping Operation In Plateau

Two operatives of the Plateau State Police Command have lost their life in gun battle while dismantling a syndicate allegedly involved in kidnapping and armed robbery in the State.

The police operatives also arrested four suspected kidnappers.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had attempted to kidnap some individuals but the act was foiled by the men of the police command.

Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the Command DSP Alfred Alabo in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos reads that;

The Plateau State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of four suspected kidnappers in recent foiled kidnapping incident that took place along Little Rayfield Road, Jos.

However, two of our officers namely; Fatayo Femi and Inpr. Dafur Dashit attached to the Force Investigation Department, Abuja (IRT) who are on special duty in Jos loss their lives during the exchange of of gunfire with the suspected kidnappers.

The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga, appeals for calm in the State as the State as the situations is under control, the statement further reads.
