Gunmen Set Commercial Bus Ablaze In Enugu Over Sit At Home Order

Unknown Gunmen have set a commercial bus ablaze in Enugu over Sit at home Unknown gunmen have set a commercial bus painted in green and white on fire on University Road in Nsukka, Enugu State, according to reports.

Several residents in the community were shaken by the incident, which occurred on Monday, October 11 at approximately 7:30 a.m. and sparked fear and panic. The driver was uninjured in the incident.

“A group of young men in a car pursued the bus here,” said the driver. The bus driver, realising that he was about to be apprehended, pulled over in the middle of the road and fled. “His pursuers tracked him down and set fire to the bus. After that, they got into their car and drove away. There was no other vehicle burned or property destroyed, according to an eyewitness.

The burned vehicle has been removed from the scene. Meanwhile, residents have continued to adhere to the banned sit-at-home order out of fear of being ambushed by unidentified gunmen.

Although leaders in the southeast agreed to call an end to the sit-at-home protest over the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, commercial and even academic activities were halted in most parts of Enugu State on Wednesday
