Hallmark bank MD, Marc Wabara has finally confirmed that former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, in 1998 actually donated N600m (Valued about 30 Million Dollars then) to PDP.
Speaking to a cross section of APC Ward, LGA and State Executives in Abia state on 2nd August, Wabara said Orji Uzor Kalu didn’t join politics to make money rather he wants to serve his people.
According to him,
“As a chief executive of Hallmark bank in 1998, I am standing here to confirm that what Orji Uzor Kalu said concerning the donation of N600m which he made to PDP is true. I personally raised the cheque for the money.”
” Kalu was the best in PDP then because he served his people wholeheartedly. When I personally decided to leave PDP, I joined APC because of Kalu. He is a principled man. He has excelled in private sector and as a governor because he has the capacity”.
Wabara equally charged the party members to not worry about defections in APC because Buhari will definitely win in 2019 general election.
Recall that Orji Kalu has in several occasions claimed that if PDP was a limited liability company, he would own 90%, as he single-handedly provided the first fund used to establish and run the party at formation in 1998. This claims had however raised lots of controversy and doubts, but with Wabara’s confirmation, all the issues has finally been put to rest.
