Hardship: Police arrest 50 protesters in Nasarawa

Operatives of Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested 50 protesters for allegedly attacking police personnel and causing the breakdown of law and order in the State.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the arrest, nothing that the protesters are currently in Police custody for interrogation and investigation.

According to the Police Spokesman, the protesters were arrested during the Thursday’s nationwide protest.

Nansel revealed that 25 persons were arrested in Lafia, 16 in Karu, six in Keffi, and three in Mararaba -Udege of Nasarawa Local Government Areas respectively.

The hunger protest commenced August 1st, over the current economic hardship. It’s scheduled to last for 19 days to press home the demands for good governance.
