Former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has mocked former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his reported comments on President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on a Channels Television programme on Tuesday evening, Wike said Amaechi’s political relevance had waned to the extent that he could not even secure the governorship ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), let alone defeat President Tinubu in a national contest.
According to Wike, Amaechi had claimed he knew President Tinubu’s weaknesses and how to defeat him, but such assertions, he said, lacked credibility.
“If he says he knows the weakness of Mr. President, why didn’t he use it in 2022 when the President mercilessly defeated him at the APC presidential primary?” Wike asked.
The FCT Minister added that Amaechi’s political history showed a consistent pattern of defeat and irrelevance.
