Veteran journalist and political analyst, Dr. Reuben Abati, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike of lacking the moral standing to criticize other political leaders.
Abati, speaking in reaction to Wike’s recent remarks about Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday on Arise TV, said the minister should first question his own character before attempting to disparage others.
“Wike is not in a position to talk about character. In fact, he should question his own character. I blame the media. Yesterday, he was talking about Peter Obi, Jonathan, and El-Rufai. The media are the ones going to interview him, and they are the ones collecting money,” Abati stated.
He further criticized journalists for giving Wike a platform to make what he described as reckless and unintelligent comments about respected figures in Nigerian politics.
