More than 400 persons have benefited from the empowerment programme of members representing Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly Hon. Beni Lar.
The empowerment programme which is the first phase for the year 2022 cut across all 33 Federal wards in the Constituency.
The items presented to the beneficiaries include cash grants and motorcycles.
“Every year we do empowerment, training to our youths and women three or four times a year. Very soon farming season will come and we will be doing more empowerment in that regard aside from adding value to those with skills and those who have no skills getting one.
“My desire and prayer at all time is that nobody will be idle in Langtang North and Langtang South by the Grace of God” She assured.
She also explained that the empowerment programme is spread in phases and assured her constituents that her desire is to see that everyone is employed, and also promised to tackle poverty in her constituency.
The lawmaker cautioned the youths not to be allowed to be used by politicians to cause trouble, In her words, “political violence does not get us anywhere, our party the PDP is a peaceful party. We do not engage our youths in violence, we go with the people, we canvased for our votes and we deliver on our mandates, that’s why people love PDP” she said.
The Lawmaker also showered encomium on the legacy of her father, the first civilian Governor of Plateau State, Chief Solomon Lar, whom she described as a great emancipator, emancipating people from poverty and oppression and bringing succour to the generality of the people, and that is her target towards her people.
