The Member representing the good people of Owerri Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere, on June 28, 2024 officially commissioned and handed over another standard 3-unit classroom block to the people of Egbu ancient kingdom alongside other projects commissioned in various constituency wards with exquisite toilet facilities.
Toska as popularly called has continued in School Infrastructural Development drive which is rapidly spreading around the perimeters of Owerri Federal Constituency. What a blessing Ndi Owerri have in Toska!
The project at Community Central School, Egbu is another strides of Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere in just one year in office. It is the first of its kind in government schools in Owerri Federal Constituency.
The commissioned project is a model of such other projects consecutively scattered around other four communities; Nekede, Ihiagwa, Obibiezena and Ohi.
Present at the project commissioning are Egbu Community Leaders, Owerri North Primary School Management Board, Teachers and Pupils of the school.
Others present include, leaders and members of Labour Party, Owerri North and LGA/Ward Coordinators of Toska Campaign Organization.
In separate addresses the headmistress of the School Mrs Chioma Chimezie, in her address on behalf of the school, expressed her joy for the commissioning of the project. She noted that the school project commissioning by Hon Toska will relieve the teachers and pupils the burden of stressful teaching/learning environment and of convenience and sanitary inadequacies. She promised that the school will definitely ensure that the building is well managed.
Representative of HRM, Eze Mitchell Egbukole (Ochoromma VI), Hon. Kennedy Anyanwu, while delivering the appreciation message from His Majesty, said that the entire Egbu Community are grateful for the magnificent 3-unit classroom block project, attracted, built and handed over to the community by the performing and vibrant Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere.
He further noted that the project met the Egbu standard as he solicited for electrification of the building with borehole and water system to enable the school utilize the facility at its fullest.
In his words , “Egbu Community is proud to have you, not just as a son in-law but as a development partner and representative at the National Assembly,” he said.
In response, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere, extended his deepest appreciation to the community leaders, teachers and pupils for the warm reception and traditional gun salute to honour his arrival.
Hon. Toska, pointed out that Egbu, as a community, has men and women of high reputation recognized all over the world in different spheres, contributing immensely to strategic nation and State building.
Toska further described Egbu as one of the influential communities with notable scholars, professionals, technocrats, political determinatives and patriotic leaders. Any project attracted and constructed must be standard and acceptable by the people. On that, Toska pledged to furnish the classrooms with desks and writing boards.
He thanked Umu Egbu for giving him a perfect wife that has been a great pillar of support and success throughout his life.
In addition, the Federal lawmaker informed the people of his resolve to setting a legacy projects in Owerri Federal Constituency that will stand the test of time.
He assured other communities who are yet to feel his impactful projects to be patient, in no distant time, every community will be touched. Indeed, the light of good governance has finally shone on Owerri Federal Constituency.
At the finishing touch of his commissioning exercise in Egbu, Hon. Toska Okere humbly expressed happiness by the crowds of witnesses at the Commissioning .
