“This gesture is borne out of the need to boost civil/military confidence among our military and citizens to enhance democracy and entrench the gains of the sacrifices made by troops in defence of the country”

Rev Semaka maintained that serving military troops are also citizens and deserve some honour for the sacrifices they make to safeguard our nation. “The late chief of Army Staff brought so much vigour in the fight against insurgency and banditry in nigeria. He alongside with the other officers died in the line of duty and should be honoured for their ultimate sacrifice”

“As an organisation with major focus on child rights and social welfare, we believe this gesture would inspire our young children to grow up and join the military, we also believe it will encourage those in the service of our military to give in their best, knowing that the nation will appreciate their sacrifices”
