A social commentator cum environmental activist and public affairs analyst Hon. Amobi Okonkwo has extolled the leadership of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi under the acting CMD Dr. Joseph Ugboaja for the ongoing infrastructural developments in the hospital.
He stated this while addressing some newsmen in Nnewi, Anambra state. Hon. Amobi Okonkwo described the new developments as a good one, just as there is construction ongoing to expand the Accident and Emergency unit of the hospital.
He praised the acting Chief Medical Director for activation of several units at the new permanent site, he commended him for starting in a grand style.
Hon. Okonkwo was impressed by smooth activities and maintenance of orderliness in the hospital due to expansions taking place in the hospital.
In a charge, he told the CMD to keep on on the good works and be always committed to the best of services to the people(sick). He charged him to digitalize some procedures in the hospital to reduce overcrowding of several units of the hospital especially as the 2nd wave of the Covid 19 is increasing.
Recall that about one month ago, Dr. Joseph Ugboaja took over from Prof. Anthony Igwegbe as the acting Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi following expiration of the tenure of the former and promised to move the hospital to the permanent site, a feat he achieved within a week of taking charge of the hospital.
A visit to the permanent site showed a beehive of clinical activities going on with patients and staff expressing happiness at the new lease of life.
When contracted, the acting Chief medical director, Dr Ugboaja Joseph promised to continue the push towards making NAUTH one of the best hospitals in the country through massive infrastructural development of the permanent site and investment in human capital development.
