Following a motion for adjournment moved by Rep.Babatunde Hunpe and seconded by the chief whip, Rep. Mohammed Tahir Mongumo,the house has officially adjourned plenary to Wednesday,13th Nov,2019 by 11:00 Am.
Before the adjournment,the house considered an executive bill which is called the finance Bill, 2019 (HB.423).The Bill which seeks to support fiscal measures towards the optimal funding of 2020 budget has passed first reading.
The house also resolves to urge the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development to provide geological records of Gold deposits in Nigeria and mandate the committee on solid minerals development to ensure compliance.
Also motion seeking to stop the operations of customs for restricting the supply of petroleum products to towns within 20 kilometers of the Nigerian border was considered and adopted by the lawmakers.
The lawmakers also raised concerns on illegal miners in Zamfara state who cart away billions of dollars’ worth of gold yearly leaving the state poor in healthcare and education system.
